The Quality Engineer is responsible for ensuring the quality and reliability of our parts and products. This will include testing & inspecting received goods, in process goods, and finished goods. Analyzing & Auditing, manufacturing, assembly processes, testing, and inspection processes to promote sustained growth.
1. Interpret engineering drawings and schematic diagrams and work with management or engineering staff to determine the quality and reliability standard.
2. Select product for testing at specific stages in the production process, and test products or components for a variety of properties such as dimensions, performance, mechanical, electrical, and/or chemical characteristics.
3. Serve as the primary quality assurance resource to department supervisor(s) for problem identification, resolution, loss reporting, and continuous improvement (Root Cause Analysis/Corrective Action).
4. Complete internal quality audits on a daily/weekly basis.
5. Compile, write, and deliver training material on quality standards and activities.
6. Promote and execute quality standards, inspection processes, test methodology, quality plans, documents, and reports.
7. Set-up and perform destructive and non-destructive tests on materials, parts, or products to measure performance, life, or material characteristics.
8. Maintain calibration schedules of measuring tools and instruments used in the quality assurance process, including quality assurance department and shop floor tools.
9. Develop, execute, and analyze quality-reporting measures and report findings to Management.
10. Work as one team with other departments through the facility to (a) promote continuous improvement, & (b) implement strategic plans. This includes but is not limited to the Plant Operations Team, Supply Chain, Engineering, Sales, & Product Development Teams.
11. Prepare graphs or charts of data and enter data into computer for analysis.
12. Perform other duties as required within the nature and level of work according to supervisor direction.
Job Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree or higher in engineering or related field. No experience required, but completion of internships highly preferred.
Must be Proficient in CAD programs like Solidworks, as well as Microsoft Office programs especially Excel.
SCRUM, Lean, Six Sigma, or Continuous Improvement training, PC-DMIS24, & GD&T knowledge is a plus.
Must be a problem-solver who is committed to bringing solutions that will adhere to the highest quality & performance standards.
Must be a positive team player, willing to help wherever possible, meet deadlines, and help hold coworkers responsible.
Must have an entrepreneurial & hands on mindset.
