The Manufacturing Quality Engineer will report directly to the Quality Engineering Manager and will be responsible for ensuring full compliance with the Baker Hughes Quality Management System (QMS) and all applicable customer requirements. This role covers mainly activities executed internally Baker Hughe site.

The successful candidate will lead the assessment and verification of technical requirements through product and process auditing, implementation of effective controls, and daily problem‑solving (main focus). The quality engineer will drive quality performance by preparing and analyzing quality reports and metrics, identifying improvement opportunities, and supporting corrective and preventive actions. In this role, the engineer is expected to promote a culture of continuous improvement across flexible pipes fabrication, assembly of connectors, and product validation processes.

As a Quality Engineer, you will be responsible for:

Acting as problem solver assessing failures at Gemba, collecting evidence for effective root cause analysis, corrective actions implementation and effectiveness review.Leading meetings and events with operational teams to identify the causes of NCRs and determine corrective actions.Driving CoPQ (Cost of Poor Quality) reduction.Reporting the status of corrective actions an improvement initiatives (both in Portuguese and in English).Collaborating with Lean initiatives and Process Engineering and AMEs teams towards processes improvements to ensure the flawless execution.Dealing with customers regarding product NCRs, complaints and ongoing investigations and/or improvement actions.Ensuring product quality performance is reviewed and improved in a frequent matter at execution sites.Leading risk analysis, making sure the product/process is well established (aligned with applicable requirements), through risk assessment tools such as, but not limited to, FMEA and A3.Runing product and quality audits and Gemba walks in a frequent basis to certify product and process requirements are properly met.Acting as a risk assessor for product manufacturing, ensuring that any execution risk is properly identified and mitigated.Supporting and/or leading Go/No-Go process for fabrication start and facilitate pre-production meetings.Ensuring operations Lessons Learned are properly captured, solved and communicated to Supply Chain and Product Delivery Team.Acting as a quality agent for culture development promoting workshops and trainings for continuous improvement.Ensuring product non-conformances are properly identified and technically reviewed to promote strategic actions for continuous improvement.Implementing and controlling quality Key Performance Indicators.Handling communication with direct colleagues and the business about approach and methods for solving complex problems.Ensuring critical observations are registered and concerns are properly identified and escalated to the respective levels of the organization.Being an agent for implementing Non-Conformance Management process at extended sites.

Fuel your passion

To be successful in this role you will:

Have Bachelor’s degree (Engineering bachelor is required), at minimum 5 yearsMinimum of 5 years of experience in quality or other areas within supply chain (within oil and gas or subsea projects is preferred).Fluent English is required for the position.Expertise in Quality and/or Product and/or regulations is needed.Experience in quality tools for developing improvement actions (A3, 8D, 5whys, fishbone diagram, FMEA, 5S, Lean Six-Sigma).

Desired Characteristics

Experience at manufacturing processes (including special processes) and product validation methods such as Fabrication, Dimensional, Painting, Welding and NDT.  Experience in Quality and product requirement audits. Experience at ISO 9001 and API Q1.Green Belt certificate in Lean Six Sigma.
