Quality Engineer

Description

The Quality Engineer is responsible for planning, executing, and maintaining quality activities for assigned programs to ensure alignment with internal quality processes, regulatory standards, and customer requirements.

Key Responsibilities

Review and interpret product design and functional specifications.

Evaluate and approve program compliance documentation.

Participate in milestone reviews, including readiness assessments and technical reviews.

Develop inspection, testing, and evaluation procedures for products and production equipment based on program needs.

Perform defect analysis and statistical reviews to determine causes, ownership, and costs associated with non‑conforming materials or products.

Apply quality tools such as NCR, MRB, RCCA, 5‑Why, and 8D methodologies.

Stay current with evolving quality standards, specifications, and industry practices.

Conduct internal and external audits and prepare related reports.

Communicate and resolve quality‑related issues with internal teams and external partners.

Perform additional duties as assigned by leadership.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Minimum Requirements

Bachelor’s degree.

At least 5 years of quality engineering experience in electro‑mechanical products.

Experience with AS9102 FAI formats and requirements.

Must meet eligibility requirements for access to controlled technical data under applicable government regulations (U.S. person status required).

Preferred Qualifications

Understanding of AS9100/ISO quality system requirements.

Knowledge of basic electronics, PCB manufacturing, and environmental testing.

Familiarity or certification in key IPC standards (such as IPC‑J‑STD‑001, IPC‑2220 series, IPC‑6012/6013, IPC‑A‑600).

Certification in IPC‑A‑610 is a plus.

CQE or CRE certifications are beneficial.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Chatsworth, CA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $125000.00 - $165000.00/hr.
