Under general direction, conducts internal quality controls concerning particular areas or company products to insure they fulfill given quality procedures and norms. Works independently without strict supervision. Monitors and records inconsistencies with quality procedures and norms. Prepares complex quality analyses and recommends necessary quality procedure changes. Prepares reports on rejected or defective products. Role typically requires more than 5 years of experience.

Key Responsibilities:

· Apply and maintain knowledge of AIAG Core Tools (APQP, PPAP, FMEA, MSA, SPC) to support product and process development.

· Lead or participate in root cause analysis and structured problem-solving methodologies (8D, 5-Why, Ishikawa, etc.).

· Conduct and support internal audits of the QMS to ensure compliance with IATF 16949 and customer-specific requirements.

· Collaborate with cross-functional teams using the process approach to identify risks, opportunities, and improvement actions.

· Develop and maintain control plans, PFMEAs, and work instructions to ensure process standardization and robustness.

· Work directly with customers and suppliers to address quality concerns and manage corrective actions.

· Monitor and analyze quality performance data using statistical methods to identify trends and drive improvements.

· Support continuous improvement initiatives and provide technical guidance to production teams on quality standards and requirements.

· Ensure timely resolution of non-conformances and effective implementation of corrective/preventive actions.

Qualifications:

· Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Industrial Management, or related field (or equivalent experience).

· 3+ years of quality engineering experience in the automotive or metals/manufacturing industry.

· Strong working knowledge of AIAG Core Tools (all five required).

· Experience with problem solving techniques (8D, 5-Why, Ishikawa, DOE preferred).

· Familiarity with IATF 16949 / ISO 9001 requirements and internal auditing practices.

· Understanding of QMS principles and process approach.

· Proficiency in interpreting engineering drawings, GD&T, and customer specifications.

· Strong communication and organizational skills, with the ability to interact effectively with internal teams, customers, and suppliers.

· Proficiency with Microsoft Office.

· Hands-on experience with extrusion, metal forming, or related manufacturing processes.

· Proven track record of leading cross-functional teams to resolve complex quality issues.

Schedule

· 8 hour shift with occasional OT as required.

· Monday to Friday

Pay Range:

56,000.00 - 84,000.00
