Job Title: Quality Engineer
Job Description

A Project Quality Engineer is responsible for developing, documenting, and directing the implementation and evaluation of quality assurance programs and systems across one or more large projects. This role provides expertise and guidance in interpreting national and international quality standards and government regulations. The engineer collaborates with engineering and manufacturing teams to ensure quality standards are upheld and tackles highly complex and diverse challenges requiring in-depth evaluation.

ResponsibilitiesDetermine program objectives for quality assurance and approaches to completing projects.Manage budgets and schedules for QA activities.Create or recommend process changes to improve products and reduce costs.Coordinate with Program Management and Operations to oversee customer acceptance processes and plans.Participate in configuration audits, functional testing, and inspection of equipment and systems.Audit quality systems for deficiency identification and correction.Implement solutions to complex problems internally and at vendor facilities.Prepare statistical analysis reports, specifications, and other technical documents.Interpret and adapt quality standards and government regulations.Act as program representative with suppliers, customers, and regulatory personnel to resolve quality issues.Deliver technical presentations and provide project direction to team members.Assist in resolving, communicating, and tracking non-conformances and corrective action plans.Participate in the material review board and act as program liaison with customer representatives for non-conformances and corrective actions.Ensure compliance with all laws, regulations, and other applicable obligations during business operations.Essential SkillsProficiency in AS9100 and ISO 9001 standards.Experience with U.S. Air Force, NAVAIR, and/or FAA Quality Assurance programs, policies, procedures, and regulations.Strong analytical ability to develop creative solutions to complex quality issues.Capability to deliver effective technical presentations.Strong leadership skills to direct staff and maintain project costs and schedules.Additional Skills & QualificationsTypically requires a bachelor's or master's degree in engineering or a related discipline.Six or more years of related experience with a bachelor's degree or four or more years with a master's degree.Equivalent experience may be substituted in lieu of education.Comprehensive knowledge of inspection methods and computer operations.SAP experience is desired.Excellent communication skills to effectively interface with suppliers, customers, and regulatory personnel.Work Environment

The role involves working extended hours as required to meet project deadlines. The engineer will engage with various teams across different disciplines and participate in technical presentations and audits. The position requires adherence to all applicable laws and regulations in a professional setting.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Poway, California.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $50.00 - $60.00/hr.
