Job Description: Quality Engineer The Senior Quality Engineer will be responsible for providing technical and leadership support for continuous improvement of test and inspection equipment and processes. This role involves leading actions and projects for proactive and responsive correction and improvement of products and processes. The engineer will actively support and lead the development, implementation, and verification of product and processes related to internal and external quality requirements. The position requires collaboration with Process Engineering, Manufacturing, and Operations to drive continuous improvement and ensure quality objectives are met, ensuring product/process conformity to internal, customer, and third-party regulatory requirements. Responsibilities + Participate in the improvement of the manufacturing process for existing products by conducting studies to stabilize, validate, or improve product and process capabilities. + Perform capability studies to identify problems, provide solutions, and implement corrective and preventive actions. + Analyze defective products and processes to determine root causes of defects and provide input on corrective and preventive actions. + Perform internal and external audits on product and processes to ensure compliance with specifications. + Interact with manufacturing, suppliers, and customers to drive improvement activities and ensure product and processes meet or exceed customer expectations. + Lead quality and customer complaint root cause investigations utilizing 8D methodology to resolve quality issues and eliminate problems from reoccurrence. + Support engineering for qualification of new products, processes, and equipment through data collection and analysis. + Review and approve work instructions, inspection documents, change notifications, and quality alerts. Essential Skills + Bachelor's Degree in Engineering + Minimum of 3 years of experience in quality engineering (IATF is a plus) + Experience with PPAP and APQP processes + Strong troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills + Knowledge of continuous improvement and Lean Manufacturing principles Additional Skills & Qualifications + Experience in Automotive industry + Experience with IATF/TS16949 standards Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $90000.00 - $115000.00/yr. company benefits available upon request Workplace Type This is a fully onsite position in CAROL STREAM,IL.
