Job Description
We are seeking a diligent Quality Engineer to analyze design reliability and quality, recommending process changes and enhancements. This role involves creating or recommending design, dimensional, or manufacturing process changes to improve products and reduce costs. The Quality Engineer will devise and implement methods and procedures for inspecting, testing, and evaluating the precision and accuracy of products and production equipment, as well as audit quality systems for deficiency identification and correction.
ResponsibilitiesAnalyze design reliability and quality to recommend process changes and enhancements.Create or recommend design, dimensional, or manufacturing process changes to improve products and reduce costs.Devise and implement methods and procedures for inspecting, testing, and evaluating the precision and accuracy of products and production equipment.Audit quality systems for deficiency identification and correction.Implement solutions to complex problems occurring internally and at vendor facilities.Prepare statistical analysis reports, specifications, and other technical documents.Interpret and adapt quality standards and government regulations.Generate nonconformance, material rejections, and corrective action reports, and communicate final acceptance test reports with customers.Generate and maintain files of all quality and as-built information for each product.Utilize SAP systems daily to support Quality Department activities.Observe all laws, regulations, and other applicable obligations wherever and whenever business is conducted on behalf of the company.Work in a safe manner in accordance with established operating procedures and practices.Essential SkillsThorough understanding of ISO standards, Quality assurance, Quality engineering, and ISO 9001.Proficiency in Root cause analysis and PPAP.Ability to develop, modify, coordinate, and document the implementation, evaluation, and maintenance of quality assurance programs and systems.Capability to provide guidance in interpreting and adapting quality standards and government regulations.Competence in interacting with engineering and manufacturing to ensure quality standards are in place.Bachelor's or master's degree in engineering or a related discipline and two or more years of related experience.Basic understanding of inspection methods and good knowledge of computer operations and applications.Additional Skills & QualificationsAnalytical ability to develop solutions to routine and non-routine quality issues.Detail-oriented to accurately prepare statistical reports and technical documents.Ability to prepare data packages containing objective quality evidence for customer acceptance.Thorough understanding of Government standards, operating procedures, and technical requirements is preferred.Experience with AS9100, DOD quality assurance program requirements is desirable.Good communication skills to ensure project costs and schedules are maintained.Willingness to work extended hours as required.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Tupelo, Mississippi.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $30.29 - $50.48/hr.
