Role Overview
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Quality Engineer to join our team in the aviation sector. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that all products, components, and processes meet industry standards, customer requirements, and regulatory compliance, such as those established by EASA, FAA, and AS9100 standards. The role will focus on continuous improvement, root cause analysis, and quality systems oversight across the manufacturing, assembly, and maintenance processes.

Responsibilities:
Contribute to the Aerospace Quality Management Systems to support site approvals. This will include conducting internal & external audits, maintenance of regulatory approvals, and administrative activities where required.
Liaise with internal stakeholders, customers and suppliers, on Compliance related issues.
Audit internal processes (RCCA)
Governance and data management of internal / external Compliance related issues from notification through to closure.
Conduct Safety Management processes meeting regulatory standards.
Involvement in CORE improvement activities to drive site continuous improvements
Act as department representative for internal and external meetings
Carry out First Article Inspection reviews.
Product safety activities, including investigation to root cause and support of new product introduction.
Host regulatory & customer surveillance visits, managing the outcomes of those visits.
Deliver training as required, updating staff competency / training records.
Support the business departments to meet operational requirements.
Review Procedures and upkeeping the site document review process
Development & reporting of Key Performance Indicators, undertaking trend analysis and working with stakeholders to address underperforming metrics
Qualifications and Skills
Required:
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, Industrial Engineering, or related field.
3+ years of experience in a quality engineering role within the aerospace or aviation industry.
Strong knowledge of AS9100, ISO 9001, EASA, FAA, or other applicable aviation quality standards.
Experience with quality tools such as FMEA, 8D, 5 Whys, SPC, and control plans.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and quality software (e.g., SAP, Q-Pulse, or similar QMS tools).
Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
Preferred:
Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) or similar professional certification.
Experience with aviation manufacturing processes (e.g., machining, composites, assembly).
Familiarity with regulatory audits and certification processes.
Knowledge of Lean Six Sigma methodologies (Green Belt or Black Belt preferred)
Experience desired:
Experience of structured problem-solving methodology: Lean / ACE, lead change/improvement activity / DMAIC / 6 Sigma etc.
Formal auditing qualification.
Green Belt / Black Belt trained
Previous experience working within an MRO / OE environment
Ability to read/interpret drawings including understanding of GD&T and critical characteristics (KPCs).
Experience in a using SAP or similar ERP system.
Skills (Personnel):
Ability and willingness to travel to supplier sites as required
