Quality Engineer
Job Title: Quality Engineer Client is able to support TN visas for qualified candidates. Unable to provide visa sponsorship outside of TN visas. Job Description Support activities to assure completed vehicle and supplied parts quality. Develop and confirm execution of quality standards and inspection plans by manufacturing and suppliers. Monitor group KPIs, identify and resolve issues using FMDS (Floor Management Development System) and/or TBP methods. Support new model vehicle development with design and manufacturing, ensuring adherence to the Operation Plan (OP). Assist in the deployment of the Quality Hoshin (Management Led Strategic Planning) and lead countermeasure activities for quality problems across departments. Manage change points with suppliers, manufacturing, and design within the assigned area of responsibility. Facilitate vehicle assurance strategies, including UIN, water leak, door close, emissions, and more. Responsibilities + Assure completed vehicle and supplied parts quality. + Develop and confirm execution of quality standards and inspection plans. + Monitor group KPIs and resolve issues using FMDS and TBP methods. + Support new model vehicle development with design and manufacturing. + Assist in deploying the Quality Hoshin strategic planning. + Lead countermeasure activities for quality problems across departments. + Manage change points with suppliers, manufacturing, and design. + Facilitate vehicle assurance strategies such as UIN, water leak, and emissions. Essential Skills + 4+ years experience within Automotive Quality. + Experience resolving complex quality problems independently. + Quality Engineering experience in manufacturing. + Experience with KPI-based management and OP milestone management. + Ability to travel locally and internationally up to 15% of the time. Additional Skills & Qualifications + Quality Engineer Certifications and/or Quality Auditor Certifications such as CQE. + Experience creating and updating strategies for training and new model introduction. + Cost and Budget experience through planning and budget approval. + Lead development of vehicle or product quality assurance strategies. + Experience leading a team for cross-department or cross-functional goals. + New Model or product experience with creation and leading of Operation Plan. + Experience in multiple phases of new model or product development. Work Environment Work in the largest facility in North America. Spend 50% of the time on the manufacturing floor and 50% at a desk in an open cubicle area. The manufacturing floor is loud and could be hot depending on the season. Must follow all proper PPE guidelines while on the manufacturing floor. The company offers training opportunities on-site, two weeks of PTO, two weeks of paid shutdown, and nine paid holidays per year. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $34.00 - $50.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
