We are currently recruiting for an exciting opportunity as a Quality Engineer within our Defence Manufacturing business in Bristol. This area of the business has a broad and expanding capability across a diverse product portfolio — including new product manufacture for the JSF LiftSystem within LiftWorks, as well as component repair work across key Defence programmes such as EJ200, Adour, and TP400.
This role will see you providing quality assurance support to both Original Equipment Manufacture (OEM) and repair activities. You’ll ensure adherence to regulatory standards including UK MoD, MAA MRP145, and the Rolls-Royce Management System. Working closely with Manufacturing Engineering and Operations, your focus will be on reducing the Cost of Non-Quality and improving right-first-time performance. What you’ll be doing
In this role you'll:
Ensure compliance with regulatory standards (MAA MRP145, AS9100, AS9110)
Take part in Defence audit programmes and guide external auditors as required
Support the resolution of Quality Notifications, MARS investigations, and audit non-conformance reports
Work with Manufacturing Engineering to improve right-first-time outcomes and reduce non-quality costs
Use visual management to clearly communicate activities and achievements

We’re looking for individuals with:
Experience in managing non-conformances
Training or experience in structured problem-solving (8D process preferred)
Strong interpersonal and influencing skills
A data-driven approach to decision-making (Lean/Six Sigma – Green Belt preferred)
Experience in process auditing and internal audit qualifications (Lead Auditor desirable)
