Job Title: Quality EngineerJob Description We are seeking a dedicated Quality Engineer to support daily quality engineering activities and assist the Quality Manager. The role involves managing IATF certification responsibilities and contributing to APQP and PPAP processes. You will develop PFMEA, Control Plans, and Part Checking and Gaging Instructions, while also training company personnel on Quality Management System (QMS) requirements. Responsibilities + Collaborate with vendor and customer quality departments to coordinate inspection techniques and instructions. + Complete Vendor Complaints and resolve vendor issues in coordination with the Purchasing department. + Update all QMS Operating Procedures and associated documents to comply with IATF standards. + Handle Customer and Supplier Complaint and Quality Alert forms, working with team members to resolve these issues. + Ensure all prints, process sheets, inspection sheets, and documents are correct and up-to-date. + Develop and prepare Control Plans, PFMEAs, and Part Checking Instructions using Plex software. + Train inspectors and operators on Control Plan checks and gage usage. Essential Skills + Proven experience in Quality Engineering, preferably 3-5 years. + Familiarity with quality assurance processes, root cause analysis, IATF, APQP, ISO 9001, and PPAP. + IATF certification is mandatory. + Experience working within an IATF certified facility. + Fluency in MS Office Suite. Additional Skills & Qualifications + Bachelor's Degree in Engineering is preferred. + Experience in an automotive environment is an advantage. + Prior experience with Plex software is beneficial. Work Environment This role is situated within a metal stamping company supporting the automotive industry, primarily heavy truck (Tier 2). The work environment is loud and not temperature controlled, becoming hot during the summer months. The company culture is laid-back and team-oriented, requiring a mix of office-based work and floor presence to troubleshoot and resolve quality issues. The position operates within a UAW Union environment, though union membership is not mandatory. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $38.00 - $43.00/hr.
