As a Quality Engineer, Product QA (Welding Discipline), you will ensure that welding processes, consumables, qualifications and inspection requirements are properly implemented, validated and monitored across internal operations and suppliers. You will collaborate closely with engineering, materials, NDE specialists and customer representatives to guarantee flawless execution.

As the Quality Engineer, Product QA (Welding Discipline) you will be responsible for:

Supporting product engineering in identifying, reviewing and implementing welding requirements.Developing project welding matrices aligned with the Materials Engineering team.Qualifying welding processes in‑house and reviewing supplier welding qualification processes.Recording welding qualifications properly through PQRs and WPS documentation.Reviewing and approving local welding work instructions.Implementing and controlling best practices for welding consumables, including required approvals per applicable industry codes.Overseeing welding operations in‑house and at suppliers according to ABNT NBR 14842 responsibilities.Witnessing laboratory tests for welding and welder qualifications and reporting results.Controlling welder qualification records and monitoring performance per relevant standards.Deploying continuous improvement actions in welding operations based on product performance.Supporting Project Quality teams with welding expertise across live projects.Interfacing with customer welding SMEs during project execution.Identifying and escalating critical observations and concerns across the organization.Running product quality audits and performing Gemba walks to verify project requirements flow-down.Supporting and/or leading Go/No-Go reviews and facilitating pre-production meetings.Capturing, resolving and communicating welding Lessons Learned to product delivery and supply teams.Ensuring welding non‑conformances are properly identified and recorded by the responsible fabrication contacts.Witnessing product inspections and qualification activities as per inspection and test plans.Reviewing and approving supplier welding quality records.Communicating with colleagues regarding approaches and methods for solving complex welding issues.Adhering to Product Line directives for standard quality requirements at fabrication sites.Contributing to root‑cause analyses for welding non‑conformances and issues.Supporting the Quality team in evaluating NDE inspection applicability and improvements in‑house or at suppliers.Reviewing and approving weld maps.

Fuel your passion

To be successful in this role you will:

Have a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Welding, Materials or Production Engineering.Have fluent English skills.Have knowledge of Brazilian customer quality requirements for subsea fabrication (XT, Manifolds, Tooling).Have strong and proven experience in welding discipline for subsea equipment.Have experience performing quality audits to support customer project assessments.Have knowledge in product quality inspection and documentation analysis.Have experience interacting with customers and inspection bodies.Have knowledge of NDE inspections (MP, DP, UT, PAUT, etc).Have knowledge of common Oil & Gas materials.Have Welding Inspector Qualification (FBTS Level 2).Have strong oral and written communication skills.
