Ingredion is hiring a Quality Control (QC) Supervisor responsible for monitoring, updating, and improving all in-process and laboratory QC systems and practices. The QC Supervisor supervises a team of Quality Control Inspectors (QCIs). Under the guidance of Kerr’s Quality Assurance (QA) Manager, the QC Supervisor is responsible for ensuring that all finished products are wholesome, pure, and within the defined specifications; outside testing is conducted in a timely fashion; all testing data is properly organized; lab equipment is properly calibrated and serviced; all QC documentation is correctly completed and properly archived; GMP practices are monitored and corrected; defined quality control points are properly monitored; raw material temperature and quality inspections are conducted in a timely fashion; and that the production operation is supported at all times.
What you will do:
The QC Supervisor is responsible for properly training, managing and auditing the QCIs quality of work. The QC Supervisor is also responsible for developing a fair and cost-effective work schedule that must be approved by the QA Manager. The QC supervisor is ultimately responsible for the accuracy and completion of all analytical, microbiological, and heavy metal testing.
The QC supervisor is expected to work with the Quality Assurance Administrator and Quality Assurance Manager in the development and implementation of Kerr’s Quality and Food Safety systems. This includes, but is not limited to, the creation of SOPS, developing product inspection processes, analyzing internal root causes and deviations, and reporting poor supplier performance.
In the unlikely case that Quality Control Supervisor is unable to perform his/her job responsibilities or abruptly leaves the organization, Kerr Concentrate’s Quality Assurance Manager will cover until the position is filled.
Supervision: 3 Quality Control Inspectors.
Key Deliverables:
Implement SQF 2000 Code Quality and Food Safety Systems.
Supervise and organize QCI work schedule and shift duties.
Audit the floor QC checks.
Supervise and manage all analytical, microbiological, and heavy metal testing and results.
Responsible for ensuring all lab equipment is in good working condition and calibrated to manufacture’s specifications.
Audit GMP and data monitoring documents and procedures.
Conduct ongoing plant audits focused on quality.
Prepare reports on poor vendor performance for Manager’s review.
Organize all sampling requests
Immediately report quality and food safety issues to the QA Manager.
Schedule the timely reading and reporting of microbiological data
Review in-process values for customer specification compliance on a daily basis.
Document and analyze internal QC deviations.
Monitor and audit all lab documentation for completeness and legibility.
Ensure the understanding of quality and food safety systems is obtained by all QCI’s.
Update QCI schedule and shift duties.
On-going, in process verification of QC lab and plant responsibilities.
Be responsible for training QC personnel on lab equipment and QC procedures.
Assist with QC related projects.
Assist with customer, third party and regulatory audits.
Assist operation team with problem solving and troubleshooting.
Assist with any product recall.
Assist with other quality or food safety related activities as requested by the Quality Assurance Manager.

Effectively present information to senior management and operation personnel.
Effectively communicate and influence the adherence to Kerr’s quality and food safety system to all plant personnel.
Effectively schedule tasks and assignments to QC inspectors.
Ability to add, subtracts, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
Ability to read and interpret an analytical balance.
Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
Apply mathematical operations to such tasks as frequency distribution, determination test reliability and validity, analysis of variance, correlation techniques, sampling theory, and factor analysis
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, interpret concrete variables and draw valid conclusions.
Who you are:
Bachelor of Science degree in Food Science, Chemistry, or related field or at least 4 years of QA or QC supervision experience.

$67,520.00-$90,026.67 AnnualThis pay range is not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Final base salary will be determined based on several factors which may include but are not limited to responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data and applicable bargaining agreement (if any).
Incentive Compensation:
As a part of the total compensation package, this role may be eligible for the Ingredion Annual Incentive Plan or a role-specific commission/bonus.
