Quality Control Supervisor

Description

\t\t\t\t\t

• Supervise, train, and support QC staff in daily tasks and ensure adherence to procedures, including CMM and inspection tool maintenance, probe care, NCR follow-up, and 5S practices.• Coordinate daily inspector assignments, delegate projects, monitor overtime usage in line with departmental goals, and track task completion.• Create and maintain a visual queue system to clearly indicate inspection priorities for parts on QC shelves.• Identify skill gaps within the team and propose individual development plans, with a focus on improving PIWEB software proficiency. Adjust team roles to enhance department efficiency.• Mentor inspectors through training, goal setting, and performance reviews. Keep the department’s skill matrix current.• Develop and implement standardized PIWEB reports for component families. Train CMM programmers to adapt and reuse these templates. Create CMM programs and corresponding PIWEB reports.• Provide daily quality updates to Production and Engineering. Identify trends, support root cause analysis, and refine quality feedback and reporting. Create custom reports as needed.• Draft, implement, and review SOPs and work instructions related to equipment maintenance, gauge calibration, and inspection processes. Work to align procedures across QC Baker and QC Fischer.• Collaborate with QC, Manufacturing Engineering, and Design teams to manage the Drawing Change Request (DCR) process. Recommend improvements and track request statuses.• Define and apply best metrology practices for inspection. Implement systems to verify data accuracy and enhance troubleshooting capabilities.• Maintain the PIWEB database to ensure it is current, well-structured, and supports efficient analysis and investigations.• Oversee software used in QC (e.g., Calypso, PIWEB), including repairs, license renewals, and upgrades. Serve as the liaison with software vendors.• Schedule and manage calibration services for equipment and ensure accurate recordkeeping.• Communicate critical equipment or personnel issues to the management team promptly.• Identify and implement process improvements. Track inspection times by product and operation point to support cost analysis and prioritize optimization efforts.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $112000.00 - $180000.00/hr.
