Partner with the bestAs a Quality Control Manager, you will ensure the effective application of the Baker Hughes Quality Management System (QMS) across all inspections performed on products. You will lead teams, processes, and continuous‑improvement initiatives to ensure that products manufactured, delivered, and/or received by Baker Hughes meet customer expectations, always in full compliance with applicable standards, procedures, and technical requirements.
As a Quality Control Manager, you will be responsible for:Team Leadership & PerformanceManaging the inspection team, analysts, and specialists in Quality Control, fostering a collaborative, safe, and productive environment.Monitoring team utilization and efficiency according to company targets and applying improvement actions as needed.Periodically evaluating team performance, applying recognition where appropriate, and implementing improvement plans when required.Executing hiring processes for all positions related to the Quality Control organization.Ensuring effective communication and information flow across all organizational layers.Operational & Process ExcellencePreparing the annual budget plan (AP) for the Quality Control department and monitoring/managing cost center expenditures.Providing infrastructure and necessary resources to maintain a productive and high‑quality environment for the team.Ensuring accuracy and quality of all reports issued by the department, covering all inspection types and non‑conformance records.Ensuring availability of adequate resources to meet inspection demands aligned with each site’s operational plan.Continuous Improvement & Quality PerformanceImplementing KPIs for Quality Control and evaluating monthly results to drive improvement projects for underperforming indicators.Applying quality tools and methodologies to enable effective root‑cause analysis and corrective actions.Fuel your passionTo be successful in this role, you will:
Have a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Production Engineering.Have technical graduation in Mechanical or Production combined with a Bachelor’s degree in Administration is also accepted.Have a master’s degree in People Management or Quality Management (desirable).Have 10 years of experience in the Oil & Gas industry in Quality Control and inspection activities.Have 5+ years of experience as a people leader.Have knowledge of Brazilian customer quality requirements related to fabrication of subsea equipment (XT, Manifolds, Tooling).Have experience with quality tools such as 5 Whys, Fishbone, FMEA, 5S, Lean, Six Sigma.Have experience with Quality audits to support customer project assessments.Have technical product qualifications issued by external bodies in Dimensional, Painting, Welding, NDT, or Fabrication (desirable).Work in a way that works for youWe recognize that everyone is different and that the way in which people want to work and deliver at their best is different for everyone too.
