Quality Control Lab Assistant
Job Title: Quality Control Lab Assistant Job Description The Quality Control Lab Assistant plays a crucial role in supporting the testing and preparation of materials in a laboratory setting. This position involves aiding certified professionals in conducting various laboratory tests and handling samples through front-end automation, storage, and retrieval processes. Responsibilities + Assist in the preparation of materials for testing. + Aid certified individuals in performing laboratory tests. + Receive and prepare samples using front-end automation. + Store and archive samples in refrigerated and frozen conditions. + Use computerized reports to retrieve and reconcile samples from archives. + Prepare buffer materials for testing. + Receive specimens and supplies, and process information from collection centers. + Handle and track donor samples from receipt to final testing. + Dispose of samples properly into biohazard containers post-testing. + Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot laboratory instrumentation. + Use computerized inventory management systems to track testing status of samples. + Assist in monitoring inventory levels for laboratory supplies. + Notify supervisor of inventory needs. Essential Skills + High School Diploma or equivalent. + Basic computer skills. Additional Skills & Qualifications + Laboratory experience or in production line work is preferred. + Skills in data entry and inspection. Work Environment The work environment is within a donor processing/manufacturing facility, providing a positive atmosphere with opportunities for growth and training in the medical field. Employees benefit from a competitive package including tuition reimbursement. The position offers a set shift with no 'on call' or STAT labs, ensuring a standard daily operating rhythm. Two shift options are available: 6:30 AM to 3:00 PM or 10:00 AM to 6:30 PM, Monday to Friday. The first day orientation typically occurs from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM. The facility operates in a warehouse setting. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $16.20 - $17.66/hr.
