Job Description
As a Quality Control Lab Assistant, you will assist in the preparation of materials for testing and aid certified professionals in performing various laboratory tests. These tasks include the receipt and preparation of samples using front-end automation, storage and archiving of samples, use of computerized reports for sample retrieval, and preparation of buffer materials.
ResponsibilitiesReceive specimens and supplies from collection centers.Process and record information from collection centers.Handle and track donor samples from receipt to final testing.Perform proper disposal of samples into biohazard containers post-testing.Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot laboratory instrumentation.Use the computerized inventory management system to locate and track samples.Monitor inventory levels for laboratory supplies and notify supervisor of needs.Essential SkillsHigh School Diploma or equivalentBasic computer skillsAdditional Skills & QualificationsLaboratory experienceWork Environment
The position is based in a donor processing/manufacturing facility with a positive work environment. Sunday to Thursday. The first day orientation is typically from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM. The facility operates with a standard daily rhythm and there is no 'on call' or emergency lab requirements. Employees will be trained in the medical field as entry-level candidates, and opportunities for growth are available globally. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $18.63 - $18.63/hr.
