**Experienced Quality Control Inspector** **Job Description** The Quality Control Inspector will be responsible for inspecting incoming raw materials, in-process production, and conducting final inspections to ensure they meet specified standards and drawing requirements. Essential Skills + 3+ years of experience in steel quality control. + 3+ years of experience in structural welding or steel fabrication (1 year required). + Proficient in using precision measuring instruments such as calipers and micrometers. + Experience with ultra sonic testing (UT) and Magnetic Particle Inspection. + Proficient with reading and interpreting blueprints. + Strong critical thinking and data entry skills. + CWI certification is a plus but not required. + Experience in managing people is a significant advantage. + Familiarity with AWS, ICC, AISC standards, and quality assurance practices. + Ability to interpret schematics and blueprint drawings. **Responsibilities** + Conduct thorough inspections of raw materials, in-process production, and finished products to ensure they meet specified quality standards and customer requirements. + Interpret and review shop drawings, specifications, and work instructions to ensure accurate fabrication and assembly. + Utilize precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges to perform detailed inspections. + Identify and document defects or non-conformities, and collaborate with production teams to resolve quality issues promptly. + Maintain accurate and detailed inspection records, including reports on findings, deviations, and corrective actions taken. + Collaborate with the Quality Manager and production teams to develop and implement quality control processes and procedures. + Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product quality and manufacturing efficiency. + Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and maintain a clean and organized work environment. + Assist in training production staff on quality control standards and best practices. **Work Environment** The work schedule is based on shop demand, typically from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM.
