We are seeking a proactive and experienced Quality Assurance Supervisor to lead our QA program and ensure that all products, materials, and processes meet quality and compliance standards. This role is essential to maintaining the Company’s reputation for quality, supporting ISO certification, and driving ongoing improvement, and consistently in the Company’s manufacturing operations.
Job Duties: Performs, or oversees a wide range of Quality Assurance tasks involving a variety of plastic component making processes that incorporate pipe, and profile extrusion, injection molding, hot plate welding, sonic welding, punching, drilling, slitting, lathe turning and mechanical assembly operations. Lead, manage, and improve the Quality Management System (QMS) in alignment with ISO 9001:2015 standards. Supervise quality control staff and coordinate day-to-day quality assurance activities across manufacturing, assembly, and shipping. Develop, implement, and maintain quality assurance documentation, including SOPs, inspection protocols, work instructions, and quality reports. Conducts, or oversees internal audits and coordinates third-party audits (NSF, SRCC) to maintain certifications and ensure compliance. Investigate product non-conformances, customer complaints, and warranty claims, leading root cause analysis and corrective/preventive actions (CAPA). Oversee incoming material inspection, in-process testing, and final product verification to ensure specifications are met. Collaborate with engineering, and production teams to improve product design, process control, and material performance. Train employees on quality standards, procedures, and best practices. Monitor quality metrics (e.g., scrap rate, defect trends, return rates) and generate reports for management review. Contributes to team effort to accomplish results, as needed. Directly supervises up to eight staff in the Quality Assurance Department. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies, and applicable laws. Responsibilities include training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; maintaining individual records of training and competence levels; addressing complaints and resolving problems QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quality Management, or a related field (preferred). 5+ years of experience in quality assurance or quality control in a manufacturing environment, ideally with polymers. ISO 9001:2015 experience required; ISO Lead Auditor certification a plus. Knowledge of quality tools (e.g., FMEA, 5 Whys, Fishbone, SPC, Control Plans, MSA) a plus. Experience with root cause analysis, CAPA, and continuous improvement methodologies (e.g., ISO, Six Sigma, Lean). Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; experience with ERP/MRP systems preferred. Excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills. Hands-on, detail-oriented, and capable of working in a dynamic, quick response Ability to read, analyze, and interpret complex documents. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to respond effectively to the most sensitive inquiries or complaints. Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and basic algebra. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations. Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, specifically Excel and Access qualifications
