Summary This QUALITY ASSURANCE SPECIALIST position, is located in the Quality Assurance function in an Army National Guard (ARNG) Army Aviation Support Facility (AASF) and is part of the CA AASF Los Alamitos. Responsibilities THIS IS A T32 EXCEPTED SERVICE, PERMANENT POSITION. The primary purpose of the QUALITY ASSURANCE SPECIALIST, GS-1910-9, is to establish, develop, and implement the AASF quality assurance and reliability programs. Serves as the Quality Assurance Representative for the AASF. May make additional selections within 90 days of eligible(s) issuance. Requirements Conditions of Employment CALIFORNIA NATIONAL GUARD MEMBERSHIP IS REQUIRED: This is an excepted service position that requires membership in the California National Guard. Selectee will be required to wear the military uniform. Acceptance of an excepted service position constitutes concurrence with these requirements as a condition of employment. Military technicians must be assigned to a military position in the same unit which they are employed or, in a unit that is supported by the employing activity. Military technicians must hold the military grade specified for the position. Priority Areas(s) of Consideration: Priority consideration is first given to the areas below. AREA I= Current California National Guard employees who are serving on a Permanent/Indefinite/Temporary appointment. AREA II= Current California National Guard members. Military Grades: E-5 through E-9 or W-1 through W-3 Recruitment/Relocation Recruitment/Relocation Incentive IS NOT authorized. PCS Relocation Costs IS NOT authorized based on determination that Permanent Change of Station (PCS) move is not in the Government best interest. Must maintain appropriate level of security clearance. Must wear appropriate military uniform including required grooming standards. Must maintain a compatible military unit, grade and job assignment as required by current directives. Participation in direct deposit is mandatory. Qualifications General Experience: Possess experience, education, or training involving planning, developing, or administering quality assurance programs (i.e., supporting the development, acquisition, production, use, maintenance, storage, and supply of products concerned with the systematic prevention of defects and non-conformances, the identification of unsatisfactory trends and conditions, and the correction of factors which may contribute to defective items); Experience using computer and automation systems QUALITY ASSURANCE SPECIALIST, GS-1910-9: Must have at least one year of specialized experience, equivalent to at least the GS-08 level, in: principles, techniques and accepted practices of quality assurance work (i.e., the application of statistical sampling techniques sufficient to perform assignments or preparation of technical reports on quality levels to identify specific problems); Experience in the application and theory of specialization using applicable publications; Experience in the preparation of technical reports on quality levels to identify specific problem areas and to recommend corrective action.
