About the role:
Plan, coordinate and direct the Quality Assurance Programs designed to comply with the procedures and policies established by Barry Callebaut Corporative, ensuring that the sanitary and food safety standards of the products produced at Barry Callebaut Chile are met, guaranteeing compliance and satisfaction of the quality and service expectations of our customers.
Key responsibilities include:
● Ensure compliance with the Quality, Food Safety and Defense, Health and Regulatory Affairs policies and procedures required by the corporate, clients or regulatory agencies at the Chile plant.
● Ensure an appropriate and timely response to potential non-conformities or issues related to the Quality-Safety of the products manufactured and supplied by BC.
● Coordinate audit or inspection visits by clients or BC corporate personnel at the Chile plant.
● Maintain control of reliable suppliers.
● Responsible for Raw Material, Packaging Material, Product in Process or Finished Product out of specification that requires release.
● Establish and report performance indicators that show the results of the plant, both locally and corporately.
● Ensure that the Document Control System of the plants under their charge is functional, effective and up to date at all times.
● Ensure the implementation of functional, up-to-date HACCP equipment that executes the HACCP Plans for each product supplied by the plant.
● Integrate the Crisis Management Team and be responsible for the management and execution of eventual product recalls from the market due to Quality and/or Food Safety situations.
● Support in Process Control and Production activities.
● Promote constant participation in Continuous Improvement programs both in the area and in the plant, seeking efficiency in production processes, waste reduction, zero defects, etc.
● Provide technical support in matters related to the commercial area.
● Propose and follow up on projects for efficient use of resources in the plant.
● Responsible for spending and budget compliance in the area.
● Prevent all accidents, injuries and occupational diseases.
● Perform work safely and responsibly.
● Apply all legal and other requirements established by the organization
● Protect each other and our visitors, aiming to work in a safe, injury-free and healthy environment.
● Work to eliminate hazards and reduce occupational health and safety risks for any employee, contractor or visitor.
● Report risks identified in the facility using the established tools.
● Always perform tasks for which adequate training is received to safely perform their function.
● Perform their work in accordance with the work procedures, instructions, Job Risk Analysis (JRA), special Work Permits and One Point Lesson (LUP), considering all control measures established according to the hierarchy of controls; Elimination, Replacement , Engineering Control, Administrative Controls, Signage and Personal Protective Equipment.
● Report any occupational or process incident to your leadership immediately.

● Responsible for reporting any potential or real dangerous situation to their superior and the Quality department.
About you:
● Food or Chemical Engineer, with degree in Quality System or equivalent.
● Excellent verbal and written communication in Spanish.
● Knowledge of unit operations in the food area. Sanitary design of plants. Functionality of ingredients. Management of operati onal and
technical personnel, at least 5 years of experience in productive areas.
●Knowledge of procedures and interpretation of Physicochemical and Microbiological parameters in the operation of laboratories , desirable 3 years of experience in Quality areas
●Knowledge of Regulatory Systems FDA, SS, OSHA, etc. Quality Systems ISO, GFSI, Extensive experience in Food Safety processes (HACCP),
Kosher, Organic etc.
● Management in audit management.
●Knowledge of the food market in general preferably focused on the confectionery and chocolate industry.
● High-level negotiation with clients and suppliers.
