As a Quality Assurance Manager, you will work closely with the Product Management, Technical Project Manager, Software Development Engineering, to understand the product vision, requirements and customer usage models and develop appropriate test strategies. You will be setting the QA team’s technical vision and roadmap, developing and tracking project schedules. The successful Quality Assurance Manager has strong customer focus and is obsessed with continuous quality improvement; they are experienced and highly committed to creating world class automation for feature testing and regression; they are able to develop and drive a high-level strategy, as well as to take a hands-on approach to implementing that strategy. They are dedicated to building a strong and high performing team.
Responsibilities:
· Working with business and development teams to understand product vision and requirements
· Understanding how all elements of the system software ecosystem work together and developing QA approaches that fit the overall strategy
· Responsible for development of test strategies and creation of appropriate test harnesses
· Overseeing the development and execution of test plans, monitoring and reporting on test execution and quality metrics
· Working with a team of quality engineering professionals to ensure the highest quality product delivery
· Coordinating with offshore Quality Service team and partner teams on test execution and sign-off
· The successful candidate is an experienced but hands-on manager who can build an organization and ensure it performs
A day in the life
Working with PM and TPM to understand new feature projects vision, oversee and influence QA engineers' test plan, test suites to ensure test coverage and define optimal test strategy, working with leaders from QS team and partner teams to drive project schedule and continuous process improvement, promote test automation, build QA team roadmap, influence engineer team on test coverage and quality engineering best practice to drive quality for each Alexa Audio releases ...
About the team
Alexa Audio QA owns the full end-to-end experience the Alexa Audio platform delivers to customers.
Our charter is to continuously drive quality engineering and push the quality bar up across all Alexa Audio teams. We do this by :
- Providing test infrastructure to enable engineering teams to test and own quality of the services.
- Acting as consultant to engineering team for service test coverage.
- Being a stakeholder of the release to ensure defects are fixed per SLA and end customer experience are protected and improved.
Basic Qualifications
- 5+ years of quality assurance engineering experience
- 5+ years of quality assurance teams management experience
- Experience managing manual testers
- Experience managing automation testers
- Experience testing web technologies and back-end services
- Experience identifying and reviewing test plans, test cases and testing results with a strong QA background
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics or equivalent
- * Experience building a QA organization that is responsible for end-end validation for a critical system or application
- * Understanding of testing strategies including technologies for automated testing
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience preparing quality metrics and effectively engaging with stakeholders to set and drive quality goals
- Experience transforming QA programs from manual to automation

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $132,000/year in our lowest geographic market up to $228,100/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
