Job Description
The Quality Assurance Lab Technician plays a critical role in maintaining quality standards within our facility. They are responsible for adhering to cGMP and BRC standards, conducting quality control checks on the production floor, and performing laboratory testing on raw materials and in-process products. The technician will advise on updating Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), conduct internal audits, perform investigations and root-cause analyses, and complete data entry and reporting via Excel. Effective cross-functional communication with all manufacturing departments and leadership is essential, as is the ability to work well both independently and as part of a team.
ResponsibilitiesFollow cGMP and BRC standards.Conduct quality control checks on the production floor.Perform lab testing on raw materials and in-process products.Advise on updating SOPs.Conduct internal audits and investigations.Perform root-cause analysis.Complete data entry and reporting using Excel.Communicate effectively with manufacturing departments and leadership.Work both independently and as part of a team.Essential SkillsQuality assurance and control.Understanding of GMP and food safety standards.Proficiency in Excel and documentation control.Knowledge in biology and chemistry.Experience with laboratory equipment and microbiology testing.Ability to perform titrations and microbiology testing.AS in Scientific discipline with 1-2 years experience in food quality.Additional Skills & QualificationsAS or BS in Biology or any Scientific discipline.Mathematics and computer usage.Bilingual preferred.Work Environment
Per GMP guidelines, the candidate must adhere to a specific dress code, which includes wearing closed-toed shoes, long pants, and long-sleeve shirts. Artificial nails, eyelashes, or visible jewelry are not permitted. The company provides uniforms and freezer jackets as the role involves working in and out of the freezer throughout the day. The team consists of an Assistant Quality Manager and three technicians per shift. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $19.95 - $19.95/hr.
