Working as part of our Microbiology Division (MBD), within the Specialty Diagnostics Group, you’ll play an active part in helping us to achieve our mission to enable our customers to make the world healthier, cleaner and safer. The Microbiology Division discovers microbiological solutions for the diagnosis of infectious disease and detection of bacterial contamination in industrial applications. We serve public health, clinical laboratories, food companies, environmental screening and pharmaceutical laboratories with a portfolio of products that include culture media, antimicrobial susceptibility testing solutions and market-leading molecular solutions for food safety testing.

Summary:


The Quality Assurance Intern works as part of the QA team at our MBD Basingstoke facility.
Reporting to the QA Supervisor the successful applicant will join Quality Assurance department working closely with the QMS and Supplier Quality teams to support the implementation of the QMS and interact with internal and external customers regarding quality related issues and queries.

This role will partner with internal team members to drive continual improvement of quality and compliance in all areas including Quality Assurance with a focus on quality systems.

Responsibilities:

Undertake QA responsibilities regarding supplier control, review and performanceAssist in training for Quality functions and ensuring relevant documentation is up-to-dateServe as documentation and training coordinator for MasterControl – Electronic Document Management systemMaintaining supplier audit trackerEnsuring supplier quality complaints are properly investigated and corrective actions takenBuilding strong partnerships with the Quality and Sourcing teams as well as external customersCollaborating closely with suppliers regarding quality issues and queriesCommunicating in a proper and effective way with customers about change controls requiring customer notificationsTracking of supplier quality questionnaires, change agreements and quality agreementsCollaborate with team members in production and quality to build robust documentation to support audit readiness

Minimum Requirements/Qualifications:

Degree in microbiology/degree in a related fieldHigh attention to detailAbility to communicate openlyWork flexibly to ensure targets are metProficient at using the MS Office suite

This is a 12 month internship/placement with interviews in January 2026 and a Summer 2026 start.
