Job Description

Onsite: The successful candidate will be expected to report to our engine assembly plant in Flint, Michigan, five times per week, at a minimum.

The Role (Responsibilities)

We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Quality Assurance Engineer to join our team at a high-volume engine manufacturing facility. This role is critical in ensuring that engine components and systems meet stringent quality standards before integration into vehicle assembly. The ideal candidate will collaborate across departments—including engineering, production, and supplier quality—to identify, resolve, and prevent quality issues.

What You'll DoSupport implementation of GMS BIQ requirements to ensure product quality and reliabilityValidate compliance to PCPs, TEBs and BoOs to improve process controls and standardized work proceduresParticipate in quality audits and reviews as necessary (i.e. BIQ, internal assessments)Participate in Change Management and Continuous Improvement initiativesDocument and communicate lessons learned and emerging issuesSupport launch activities for new engine programsAttend cross-functional meetings and quality reviewsHelp implement best practices for quality assurance across teamsEnsure products comply with industry standards, regulations, and internal quality benchmarksSupport/conduct root cause analysis and corrective actionsEnsure ISO or other regulatory compliance (including export compliance if applicable)Your Skills and Abilities (Required Qualifications)5+ years of experience in manufacturing, quality or engineeringGeneral knowledge of print:  reading, interpretation and part measurementBachelor’s degree in engineering or a related technical fieldStrong analytical and problem-solving skillsExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsAbility to work collaboratively across teamsCustomer-focused mindset with managerial courageEffective decision-makingWhat Will Give You a Competitive Advantage (Preferred Qualifications)Previous experience as a Quality Engineer or Corporate AuditorExperience managing teams or projectsKnowledge of engine manufacturing processesHands-on experience on the production floorISO/IATF experienceTorque management or systems knowledge
