You will play a key part in the day to day within the department. The roles purpose is to carry out Quality Engineering and defect investigations in support of various Quality team’s KPI’s and Processes, in the support of production, customer service and Zero Defect. This is an exciting business integral position within a key function at Hastings. 

 Your new role:

 

Monitoring product life cycle processes and products for adherence to company and regulatory standards and practices; participating in quality improvement initiatives and projects To assist in shop floor (Assembly) Material Review Board.  Ensure that Customer (both internal and external) quality queries are dealt with promptly, efficiently and professionally.  To take ownership of quality assurance issues affecting TE product.  To maintain quality documentation in a neat and methodical manner, both in paper copy and or electronically.  To conduct 8D defect investigations and present written preventive and corrective actions to TE company standard.  To review the quality/effectiveness of 8D’s and that Corrective Actions are implemented.  To form part of a team who conduct audits of manufacturing and control systems.  To liaise with the other departments to ensure that corrective actions and/or reworks are undertaken, and that actions and/or reports are produced in a suitably timely manner.  To assist in other Quality Department activities, to include, but not limited to, daily KPI measures and internal reworks.  To observe Health and Safety regulations as laid down in company procedures and Government legislation.  Your ideal background:

 

Must be familiar with mechanical measurement techniques and be able to use electrical and mechanical measuring equipment. 

Must be capable of reading engineering drawings (i.e., BS308)

Good general education to GCSE level. 

Mechanical Engineering or similar technical qualifications 

3 years minimum work experiance in a similar position
