Purpose of the Role

BGIS is seeking a Quality & Compliance Advisor to support service delivery under a major housing contract. Based at our Alstonville office, you’ll travel across the Northern Rivers region to ensure maintenance works meet Australian Standards, audit compliance frameworks, and minimise risk for both BGIS and our client.

Reporting to the Risk Manager, you’ll work closely with subcontractors, trades, and client representatives to drive quality outcomes, foster safety, and improve processes.

The ideal candidate will have an eye for detail, strong communication skills, and the ability to balance field-based audits with compliance reporting and administration.

Key Responsibilities

Undertake audits of subcontractor works, responsive maintenance, and planned activities. Ensure compliance with WHS, environmental, and quality standards. Review and report on audit findings, incident investigations, and site issues. Support contractors and trades in meeting compliance requirements. Provide technical advice on building standards and quality assurance. Identify trends and opportunities for continuous improvement. Prepare and submit monthly compliance and audit reports.

Education, Experience & Skills

Essential:

Trade qualifications. Experience in compliance auditing, WHS, and risk management. Understanding of Australian Building Standards & Codes. Strong Microsoft Office skills (Excel, Outlook, Word). Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently across multiple regional sites.

Desirable:

Accreditation as a Quality Assurance Internal Auditor. WHS Certificate IV or higher. Background in residential or housing maintenance services. Experience in subcontractor supervision.
