This role contributes to Starbucks success by supporting the quality and operations team, reporting, and the day-to-day operations for green coffee & tea warehouses and sensory programs. This partner will drive continuous improvement in process and efficiency, lead complex quality projects, drive optimization initiatives, and collaborate across global teams to uphold Starbucks’ standards of excellence for coffee & tea.  

 

As analyst III, global coffee & tea, you will… 

Lead sensory evaluations and physical testing to support quality management across global roasting plants and warehouse providers to ensure efficient and compliant quality operations 

Drive innovation in operational and quality methodologies and lead complex quality improvement projects; Support initiatives that enhance quality, food safety, and operational consistency 

Provide data-driven insights, analyzing operational data to identify trends, root causes, and areas for improvement; Support reporting and decision-making through accurate data gathering and analysis 

Provide transactional support in Oracle and other systems related to inventory, recipes, and manufacturing; Troubleshoot system issues and support team members in resolving technical challenges 

Drive quality and process improvements, collaborating with cross-functional teams to implement process enhancements and system updates 

Foster collaboration and communication, serving as a liaison between internal teams and external partners to ensure alignment and smooth execution; Communicate clearly and proactively to support coordination and issue resolution.  

We’d love to hear from people with: 

High school diploma/GED, US military service or equivalent (required) 

Bachelor’s degree in quality, food science, engineering, supply chain, or applicable field (preferred) 

5+ years of experience in food science, quality, or related field 

3+ years of sensory evaluation experience 

5+ years’ experience gathering, recording, and reporting operational and quality metrics 

Familiarity with FDA and GFSI food safety standards and certification schemes (e.g., BRC, SQF) 

Proficiency in ERP systems and Microsoft Office applications 

Passion for coffee, tea, and cocoa quality and sensory evaluation
