Seeking a Quality Inspector

Position Summary:
Verifies routine product conformance to design requirements. Provides objective evidence of results. Performs auditing, surveillance, and monitoring. Identifies and documents discrepancies. Segregates and controls non-conforming items. Performs preliminary review and disposition of non-conformance. Conducts product review with customer during product or process verification. Identifies repetitive or significant non-conformances and initiates requests for corrective action.
Under limited supervision, inspects incoming parts/material, outgoing orders verify that certification is correct, checks parts for processing, check special orders, daily use of micrometers, gauge controls, calipers, indicators, etc. Provides mentorship throughout the Inspection team.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:
•\tConducts dimensional inspections per design record and documented AQL levels; Conducts visual inspections for obvious defects.
•\tReview and disposition all certification documentation to meet traceability requirements per AS9100 and Company Quality standards; communicate with vendor as needed. Disposition and control of on-conforming product.
•\tObtain and maintain Customer Designated Supplier Quality Representative Stamps for at least three customers (or as applicable by Site size); Active use of stamps required.
•\tReview and approval of First Articles from suppliers.
•\tPerform First Articles for submission to customers.
•\tIdentify and communicate opportunities to increase inspector productivity and assist with RCCA activities pertaining to Inspection. Assist in internal, customer, and third-party audits.

Additional Skills & Qualifications
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills and Experience)
•\t2-4 years of related work experience (4-6 years preferred)
•\tEquivalent combination of formal education, on-the-job training, and/or work experience
•\tPrevious aerospace inspection experience
•\tExperience in QA inspection methods and procedures, including First Article Inspection
•\tFluent in English (i.e. reading, writing, and verbal communication)
•\tStrong analytical, organizational, and troubleshooting skills
•\tRequired to pass documented color and near vision exam
•\tKnowledge of AS9100 requirements
•\tExperience in the usage of calipers, ring/pin gages, comparator, and Smart scope
•\tProficient PC skills and use of Microsoft Office products (Outlook, Excel)
•\tUnderstanding of Six Sigma / team concepts
•\tAdvanced GD&T Skills – Optical Comparator, CMM, Layout, Vision Scope Systems
•\tAbility to manage multiple and competing priorities

The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $21.00/hr.
