Aspire People are working in partnership with a well-regarded ASD specialist school in Harborne to recruit a passionate and adaptable QTS IT Teacher. This is a full-time, ongoing position, ideal for a teacher who is enthusiastic about delivering IT/Computing in an inclusive and supportive environment tailored to the needs of learners with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and associated learning differences.
The school is dedicated to providing a structured and nurturing learning environment where students thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.
The Role:
Plan and deliver engaging, accessible IT and Computing lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, tailored to students with ASD and additional needs
Differentiate content and teaching styles to meet EHCP targets and individual learning profiles
Incorporate visual supports, assistive technology, and practical-based learning to enhance understanding and engagement
Work closely with support staff and the SEN team to provide a holistic learning experience
Encourage digital literacy and responsible internet use, promoting independence and life skills
Assess and track student progress, providing regular feedback and adapting strategies where needed
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) - Essential
Experience teaching IT/Computing in mainstream or SEND settings
A strong understanding of ASD, sensory processing needs, and communication challenges
Creativity and flexibility in lesson planning and delivery
Excellent behaviour management skills with a calm and consistent approach
A current Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one through Aspire People)
