Job Title: Quality Control Supervisor (Metal Parts & Powder Coating) Location: Cinnaminson, NJ Type: Direct Hire Compensation: $75,000 - $115,000 annually (depending on experience) Hours: Monday - Friday, 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM. Some overtime is expected. QC Supervisor (Metal Parts & Powder Coating) Responsibilities: Core Responsibilities: + Provides strategic on-the-floor leadership, overseeing the daily operations of the QC inspection team to ensure adherence to SOPs and regulatory standards in a ISO-9001(2015) manufacturing environment (stamped and CNC milled metal parts & components). + Serves as the lead quality liaison with customers (businesses), facilitating cross-functional alignment between Production, Engineering, and Supply Chain to maintain organizational compliance. + Review and authorize First Article Inspections (FAIs) in accordance with regulation or customer-specific standards to validate manufacturing process capability. Inspection & Process Control: + Precision Forming: Laser cutting, turret punching, and shearing. + Structural Fabrication: CNC brake forming, welding (AWS/ISO compliance), and complex assembly. + Surface Finishing: Powder coating and chemical pre-treatment validation. + Pretreatment and wash systems + Cure schedules and oven profiles + Film thickness, adhesion, and appearance + Color consistency and cosmetic standards + Proper documentation of cure verification, batch tracking, and test results. Nonconforming Material & Corrective Actions: + Lead root cause analysis using structured methodologies (5 Whys, Fishbone, Pareto). + Implement and verify corrective and preventive actions (CAPA). + Coordinate corrective actions with production, engineering, and suppliers. Training and Leadership: + Direct and mentor the QC team while facilitating staff training in standardized inspection and defect prevention. + Drives a facility-wide culture of quality ownership, accountability, and continuous improvement Quality Control Supervisor - Metal Parts & Powder Coating Requirements: + Education: High School Diploma (required); Associate/Bachelor’s in Engineering or Manufacturing (preferred). + Experience: At least two (2) years in quality control (fabrication or other related manufacturing) including at least one (1) year in a quality control supervisory or leadership capacity. Technical Competency Requirements: + Blueprint Literacy: able to read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, designs, etc. + Proficient with precision tools (calipers, micrometers, height/pin/coating thickness gauges). + Process Knowledge: Deep understanding of powder coating standards and ERP/MRP systems for quality documentation. + Preferred Certifications: ASQ Certification: CQI (Quality Inspector) or CQT (Quality Technician). + Process Excellence: ISO 9001 Internal Auditor or Lean Six Sigma Green Belt. + Physical Requirements: Ability to manage the shop floor environment (noise, dust, PPE usage) and lift up to 50 lbs. #M1 Ref: #563-Joule Staffing - Toms River System One, and its subsidiaries including Joulé, ALTA IT Services, CM Access, TPGS, and MOUNTAIN, LTD., are leaders in delivering workforce solutions and integrated services across North America.
