About the Role
We are seeking a Senior Microbiologist to join our QC Microbiology team as a QC Scientist - Microbiology. In this role, you will perform microbiological testing and sampling, support quality systems, contribute to investigations, and work collaboratively across departments to maintain high standards of compliance and product quality.
This role includes participation in rotational OT weekend and public holiday work.
What You’ll Be Doing
Performing microbiological testing including bioburden, of process intermediates, crude harvest, drug substance and WFI
Conducting sampling of environmental monitoring and WFI
Perform growth-promotion testing, isolates sub-culturing and preliminary confirmatory tests
Conduct technical evaluation of growth detected and microbial identifications obtained
Maintaining laboratory stock, equipment and GMP documentation
Recording results accurately to meet regulatory and quality standards
Preparing, reviewing and updating SOPs, test methods and technical reports
Supporting investigations including deviations, OOS/OOT and laboratory events
Raising and implementing Change Controls, CAPA
Participating in internal, client and regulatory audits
Preparing microbial trends and reports to provide microbiology expertise to internal teams
Supporting analytical development and technical transfer activities
Training QC Microbiology staff and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives
Maintaining a safe working environment and following all EH&S requirements
About You
You’ll succeed in this role if you enjoy problem-solving, working collaboratively and contributing to high-quality scientific outcomes.
We’re looking for:
Minimum Three (3) years’ experience in a microbiology laboratory environment within food, pharmaceutical or pathology. Knowledge of bio-pharmaceutical processes and pharmaceutical guidelines preferred.
Background in Microbiology and/or related discipline.
Knowledge of cGMP, GLP and GDP. Familiarity with principles of aseptic techniques and microbiological testing preferred.
Experience with LIMS, GMP documentation and conducted training is advantageous
Strong communication, teamwork and organisation skills with a focus on accuracy, safety and continuous improvement
Full working rights in Australia. No Visa, those undergoing PR process will be considered.
