We are currently recruiting for a QC Lead & Mechanical/Piping Welding Inspector to be placed in Tarragona, Spain and would be on a 18-month contract with the possibility of extension. The main function will be to consolidate site inspection data from other inspectors by means of report, and report to Construction Manager, Project Manager and Regional Quality Manage
Responsibilities
Skills / Qualifications Welder Qualification Witness and Certification controls. Monitor welding activities to ensure quality and safety. Identify and document welding defects and non-conformities. Provide recommendations for corrective actions to address welding issues. Collaborate with welders, engineers, and project managers to ensure quality control. Ensure compliance with safety regulations and industry standards. Conduct non-destructive testing (NDT) as required. Interpretation of Radiographs, as required. Assist in the development and implementation of quality control procedures. Participate in project meetings and provide input on quality issues. Ensure proper calibration and maintenance of inspection equipment. Stay updated on industry trends and advancements in welding technology. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Proficient in reading and interpreting drawings, Isometrics, P&IDs, and welding symbols. Knowledge of industry regulations and safety standards. Ability to maintain accurate records and documentation. Proficient in using inspection tools and equipment. Strong organizational and time management skills. Ability to work in various environments, including construction sites and manufacturing facilities. Commitment to continuous improvement and professional development. A bachelor's degree/Diploma, in Mechanical / Metallurgy / Welding CSWIP 3.1 Welding/ CSWIP 3.2 Senior Welding Inspector/ IWI/ IWE. PCN Level II Radiographic Interpretation, Liquid Penetrant Examination, Magnetic Particle Examination, Ultrasonic Examination Experience in welding inspection and quality control. Experience working in the oil and gas related industry on Onshore Plants. Proven work experience as a Quality Control Inspector at sites. Strong knowledge of mechanical equipment, welding processes, techniques, codes and standards Knowledge and understanding of Regulatory Compliance requirements for the Pressure Equipment Directive (PED). Excellent attention to detail. Proficiency in using inspection equipment and software. Good knowledge of Construction Safety, Risk perception. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
