Overview:

The Electrical & Instrumentation (E&I) Quality Control Inspector is responsible for ensuring that all electrical and instrumentation work completed by subcontractors, vendors, and suppliers complies with project specifications, industry standards, and quality requirements. Operating within their assigned work scope, the inspector will perform detailed inspections, testing, and verification of construction and installation activities.

Key Responsibilities: Conduct quality inspections on-site for materials, equipment, and installation activities. Review and issue relevant quality records; report non-conformities to the Quality Lead when required. Inspect cable laying, identification, and terminations. Execute loop checks and punch list inspections. Inspect electrical components such as power transformers, switchboards, battery systems, outlets, and lighting installations. Perform visual and dimensional checks, verify material ratings and connection standards. Conduct continuity and insulation resistance testing. Oversee instrument installation and perform functional testing. Verify pneumatic signal connections and fiber optic cable integrity. Test communication system functionality. Confirm special process qualifications and assess competency of associated personnel. Witness testing and inspection activities, ensuring compliance with the Quality Control Plan. Review and validate inspection procedures, equipment used, and related documentation. Ensure adherence to the approved Inspection and Test Plan (ITP). Perform in-process inspections and monitor progress to ensure timely completion of quality tasks. Promote and uphold safe working practices aligned with industry SHE standards. Supervise subcontractor activities related to equipment preservation and instrumentation controls (including IMT&E). Participate in system acceptance walk-downs, identify punch items, and verify readiness for mechanical completion and handover. Requirements: Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in electrical and instrumentation inspection within oil, gas, or energy construction projects. Hands-on experience with high-voltage installations, including switchgear and motor drives. Familiarity with hazardous area equipment and installation procedures. Practical knowledge in instrument calibration (e.g., ultrasonic flow meters, level/temperature/pressure transmitters). Competence in international standards such as BS, IEC, ISO, API, ATEX, and EEMUA. Understanding of applicable construction codes, practices, and local regulations. Strong awareness of health, safety, and environmental (HSE) regulations. Computer literate with proficiency in Microsoft Office and familiarity with tools like MS Project, Outlook, and WinPCS. Hazardous area inspection certification is a plus. Ability to work efficiently under pressure and meet strict deadlines. Compex certification is required. About Airswift
