Job DescriptionThe QC Chemist will be responsible for executing existing validation and optimization efforts in the QC lab. The role involves performing and documenting validation methods for both GC and LC instrumentation per SOPs, documenting per GDPs, and meeting all requirements of the QMS. While the primary focus is on LC and GC, training on additional techniques like KF and ICPMS can be provided where needed.
ResponsibilitiesPrepare samples and execute existing validation methods for existing compounds using LC and GC analysis.Optimize existing methods where possible.Capture and document all test method data in accordance with cGMPs.Prepare technical reports consistent with QMS requirements.Essential SkillsProficiency in chemistry, gas chromatography, and liquid chromatography.Ability to articulate examples of performing LC and GC, including sample preparation and instrument use.Understanding of basic instrument troubleshooting.Sound understanding of validation parameters - ideal but not required.Experience working within the life sciences industry, specifically within cGMP/FDA regulated facilities.Additional Skills & Qualifications1+ years of experience running sample analysis via GC and LC, documented via good documentation practices.BS in Chemistry or similar field.Comfortable working with a respirator, including PAPR.Work Environment
The position is onsite and requires travel between Madison and Verona, WI, approximately 10 miles apart. The role involves working in a fast-moving, highly regulated lab with constantly changing priorities and a multitude of deadlines. The team values comfort with potent compounds and hazardous chemicals, and the ability to adapt to shifting projects within R&D and QC support.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $23.00 - $28.00/hr.
