Job Description:
Position: QA/QC Welding Engineer
Company: KBR
Project: ROO EPCm
Work Week: 6 days work. 1 day off.
Location: Basra.
Nationality: Iraq
Job Responsibilities:
Reports to QA/QC Manager.Review of WPS, PQR, weld maps and Witness Welder Qualifications.Ensure that material/welding consumables are stored and handled correctly, when required material traceability is maintained and correct material used.Ensure welding machines/baking ovens/quivers are in serviceable condition and where required is within the valid calibration period.Check for the qualification of the welding personnel and the kind of materials being used for the process.Perform in process (before/during/after) and final visual inspections.Review Inspection reports (Fit‐up, Final Visual).Review test reports including PWHT chart/records for process output compliance with requirements.Review daily welding reports.Mandatory Competencies:
Familiar with working knowledge of International Codes and Standards, specifically ASME and API Codes/practices and specifications associated with all types Welding.Proven track record in development and implementation of quality management systems to meet recognized international standards.Fluent in EnglishSoft Skills:
Excellent communication and interpersonal skillsStrong problem-solving and decision-making abilitiesAbility to work in a team environment and collaborate effectively with stakeholders.Attention to detail and accuracy in work.Qualification:
Bachelor/Diploma in a relevant engineering discipline from a recognized institution.
• CSWIP 3.2 / PCN Level II / AWS CWI
• Certified Welding Engineer (IWE) preferable
• Member of recognized Engineering / Quality
Institute
• ASNT Level II UT, RT, PT, MT. (To have been
held for a minimum of three years).
NACE / BGAS / ICorr certification
10 Years Overall experience
5 years as certified welding inspector (AWS CWI, CSWIP 3.1 or CSWIP 3.2)
