Role Overview
The QA/QC Inspector (Electrical & Instrument) is responsible for ensuring quality control and compliance during the installation, testing, and commissioning of electrical and instrumentation equipment. The role requires strong technical knowledge, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary, multicultural environment.

Qualifications Degree and/or diploma in Electrical, Electronic, or Instrumentation Engineering. Experience in quality control within multi-discipline construction and commissioning environments. Formal training in quality control and membership in a recognized chartered or professional institution is preferred.
Experience Minimum 10 years of experience in a similar position. Previous experience in the GCC region is desirable. Strong working knowledge of quality control and testing requirements for installation, testing, and commissioning of electrical and instrumentation equipment in oil/gas and petrochemical plants.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities Implement the elements of the company’s management system relevant to your function. Ensure your own safety and the safety of others affected by company operations; actively participate in all safety matters related to project construction. Prevent environmental pollution by adhering to project requirements. Coordinate inspection and test requirements on behalf of the company. Review and understand project and discipline-specific inspection documentation to ensure contract requirements are met. Apply knowledge of international codes and standards (e.g., QCS, NEC, IEC, IEEE, NFPA 70). Implement quality inspection procedures for construction activities, suppliers, and subcontractors to ensure compliance with project specifications. Ensure inspection, test, surveillance, and survey documentation meets the requirements of the Project Quality Plan, ITPs, and project specifications. Complete relevant forms and prepare inspection and test reports for record-keeping. Communicate effectively with contractors, third parties, and end users. Ensure all measuring and testing equipment is calibrated and records are maintained. Assist construction personnel in developing quality documentation, including method statements, work procedures, inspection and test plans, and records. Help identify problems, non-conformances, and assist in proposing corrective and preventive actions. Perform and monitor technical inspections during Site/Factory Acceptance Tests for main electrical components (e.g., transformers, switchgears, cables, MCCBs, PLC, MCC, LCC panels). Liaise with field supervisors and contractors to coordinate and plan construction works, SATs, and E&I tests. Implement QC activities for electrical and instrumentation works on site, including reviewing inspection and test plans, checklists, RFIs, and receiving material inspections. Verify installation of electrical equipment and instruments as per hook-up drawings and red-line mark-ups. Ensure compliance with HV/LV cable laying standards, punch list production, commissioning, and loop checking. Assist the Quality Engineer in reviewing test reports, quality documentation, and inspecting delivered equipment for conformity. Monitor contractor’s E&I site activities, including substation grounding system installation and measurements. Ensure all E&I activities are performed according to project requirements, and that tests and reports are properly documented. Witness site and laboratory tests related to electrical and instrumentation activities. Monitor that materials and equipment are used according to specifications. Conduct random checks on receiving-inspection of E&I equipment and verify delivery documents. Reject materials not meeting specifications or lacking authentic certificates. Follow up on corrective actions to close out non-conformances. Monitor trends of non-compliance and provide feedback on contractor performance. Initiate surveillance and non-conformance reports for QC Engineer approval.
