Airswift is currently seeking a highly experienced QA/QC ENGINEER (INSTRUMENT) to join a leading Oil & Gas company in Qatar for a major solar project.

Qualification: Bachelor’s degree in Instrumentation, Electrical, or Controls Engineering (or equivalent) from a recognized university. IRCA Certified QMS Lead Auditor. Certification from IECEx?CoPC, CompEx, or similar schemes is desirable. Membership or certifications from recognized institutions (e.g., ASQ?CMQ&OE, MCQI?CQP) are an advantage. Experience: Minimum of 15 years’ experience in construction of major Greenfield or Brownfield process plants in the Oil & Gas industry; experience in solar (photovoltaic), power plants, or similar projects is a plus. Worked with major EPIC contractors or end-users in a similar role, overseeing QA/QC for Electrical, Instrumentation & Controls (I&C) construction and commissioning. Strong understanding of QA/QC requirements, testing procedures, and acceptance criteria for E&I, telecom, and F&G systems in complex projects. Hands-on experience with loop checking, instrument calibration, field instruments, control valves, DCS, telecom, fibre optics, etc. In-depth knowledge and application of international standards and codes (QCS, IEC, IEEE, BS, ISO, UL, IOGP, Shell DEPs). Excellent communication and collaboration skills in multidisciplinary and multicultural environments. Experience preparing, reviewing, and approving Quality Plans, ITPs, QCPs, MARs, and performing inspection/testing during field erection, pre-commissioning, and commissioning across: I&C, telecom, F&G systems (e.g., ESD, FGS, DCS, PCS, SCADA, MCMS, PMS/LDS, ACS, metering, WHCP, CCTV, PAGAs, EMS, HVAC & BAMS), analyzers, cabinets, panels, cables, etc. Experienced in managing discipline inspection teams, coordinating inspection/testing activities, and monitoring KPIs. Skilled in developing and implementing Quality Surveillance Programs, Completion Management Systems (CMS), Inspection & Test Records (ITRs), Technical Integrity Verification (TIV), Flawless Project Delivery (FPD), and Project Quality Health Check (PQHC) programs. Proficient in conducting pre-qualification evaluations, QMS audits, and technical compliance checks; experienced with quality walkthroughs in EPIC environments. Capable of resolving complex QA/QC disputes stemming from varied interpretations of technical requirements and scope by project parties or external authorities. Primary Duties and Responsibilities: Support contractors in preparing/submitting QA/QC documents (ITPs, QCPs, test procedures, MARs), ensuring timely review and approval. Assist functional supervisor with reviewing QMS, engineering, and procurement documents and resolving discipline-specific quality issues. Ensure project site, supplier, and subcontractor compliance with project specifications and QA/QC standards. Organize and attend Pre-Activity Review, QA walkthroughs, and weekly QA/QC meetings. Conduct surveillance and inspections of on-site/off-site activities, identifying non-conformances and directing corrective/preventive actions. Initiate or escalate NCRs for recurring issues; manage root cause analysis and follow through to resolution. Track compilation of Material Test Certificates and construction records to ensure traceability. Verify implementation of Preservation Management Systems. Ensure contractors maintain IMTE registers and calibration records regularly. Confirm robust systems/processes/databases are in place for inspection/testing status tracking and statistical analysis. Monitor discipline-specific KPIs, special processes, and personnel performance. Participate in QHSE and pre-qualification audits of vendors/subcontractors; conduct compliance checks across activities and documentation. Supervise and mentor contractor, subcontractor, and third-party inspectors; provide reports to the functional supervisor. Enforce Quality Management System standards for the Instrument discipline. Spend at least 50% of time on site under prevailing climatic conditions. Maintain safety for yourself and others, in line with policies.
