Airswift is currently seeking a highly experienced Senior QA/QC ENGINEER (CIVIL) to join a leading Oil & Gas company in Qatar for a major solar project.

Qualification: Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering (or equivalent) from a recognized university. IRCA Certified QMS Lead Auditor. Membership and/or certifications from internationally recognized institutions (e.g., ASQ-CMQ&OE, MCQI-CQP, ICE, ASCE) are desirable.
Experience: Minimum of 15 years of experience in construction of major Greenfield or Brownfield process plants in the Oil & Gas industry, including extensive experience in large-scale solar (Photovoltaic) projects. Prior work with major EPIC contractors or end-user organizations with full QA/QC responsibility for Civil and Structural construction activities. In-depth knowledge of QA/QC practices, testing methods, acceptance criteria, and managing QA/QC functions specific to Civil and Structural disciplines. Strong understanding and application of international codes, standards, and regulations such as QCS, ACI, AISC, BS/EN/ISO/ASTM standards, Shell DEPs, etc. Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively in a multidisciplinary, multicultural environment with contractors, third parties, and end-user teams. Hands-on experience in preparation, review, and approval of Quality Plans, ITPs, QCPs, MARs, and performing inspections related to: Surveying, earthworks, concrete/grouting Major structural foundations, tanks, and equipment Structural/concrete pipe racks, buildings, architectural works Road works, pavements, civil labs, concrete mix design, pre-cast yards Skilled in leading inspection teams, coordinating discipline-specific QA/QC activities, and monitoring discipline KPIs. Proficient in developing/implementing Quality Surveillance Programs, Completion Management Systems, Inspection & Test Records (ITRs), Technical Integrity Verification (TIV), Flawless Project Delivery (FPD), and Project Quality Health Check (PQHC) programs. Experienced in conducting pre-qualification, QMS audits, quality compliance reviews, and walk-throughs of EPIC contractor activities. Strong ability to resolve complex Civil/Structural QA/QC issues and interpret project technical requirements accurately.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities: Support contractors in identifying and submitting QA/QC documentation (ITPs, QCPs, MARs) aligned with construction schedules for timely review and approval. Assist in reviewing and approving QMS, engineering, and procurement documentation; support implementation of quality programs and resolve escalated technical QA/QC issues. Ensure QA/QC requirements are implemented effectively at project sites, including at subcontractors’ and suppliers’ locations, in accordance with project specifications and technical standards. Organize and participate in Pre-Activity Review meetings, QA/QC walk-throughs, and weekly quality meetings. Conduct surveillance and inspections of on-site/off-site Civil and Structural works; identify actual or potential non-conformances and ensure corrective/preventive actions are taken. Initiate or ensure initiation of Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs); manage root cause analysis and coordinate timely resolution and close-out. Monitor compilation of Material Test Certificates (MTCs) and Construction Dossiers to ensure traceability and completeness. Oversee the implementation of the Preservation Management System for Civil/Structural materials and equipment. Ensure regular update and maintenance of the IMTE (Inspection, Measuring and Test Equipment) registers and calibration records. Verify that proper systems/processes are in place to track inspection and test status; perform statistical analysis of test data (e.g., fill material, concrete, grout). Monitor discipline-specific KPIs and special process performance indicators. Participate in QHSE audits and pre-qualification audits of subcontractors/vendors; conduct compliance checks on ITPs, QCPs, Method Statements, and work processes. Monitor and guide contractor/subcontractor/third-party QA/QC teams; provide feedback to the functional supervisor on team performance. Implement and enforce Quality Management System requirements applicable to the Civil/Structural QA/QC function. Spend a minimum of 50% of time at the construction site, under prevailing climatic conditions. Ensure personal safety and the safety of others affected by operations, regardless of direct or indirect control.
