This Quality Assurance Registered Nurse will report directly to the Area Vice President and be responsible for overseeing and ensuring the highest quality of patient care, compliance with regulatory standards, and continuous performance improvement within the hospice program.
Develop, implement, and oversee the Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement (QAPI) program for hospice services.Analyze clinical performance data to identify trends and implement process improvements.Conduct audits, chart reviews, and compliance assessments to ensure adherence to hospice regulations and standards.Facilitate quality improvement projects and initiatives based on identified areas of need.Monitor and report patient outcomes, infection control data, and adverse events.Ensure compliance with Medicare Conditions of Participation (CoPs), The Joint Commission (TJC), National Hospice and Palliative Care Organization (NHPCO), and state-specific hospice regulations.Stay updated on federal, state, and local regulations and ensure the organization’s policies and procedures align with regulatory changes.Prepare and assist in hospice surveys, inspections, and accreditation reviews.Collaborate with leadership to implement corrective action plans following compliance reviews.Oversee the design and implementation of validation procedures, test plans, and test casesProvide guidance and education to clinical staff on quality and regulatory requirements.Assist in the development and implementation of clinical best practices.Support ongoing training initiatives related to quality improvement, infection control, documentation standards, and patient safety.Ensure proper documentation practices to meet CMS (Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services) and other regulatory requirements.Develop, write, and manage the execution of an overall software test strategyImplement and utilize QA toolsCreate and present risk assessments to identify potential riskCollaborate with IT to document practice care and documenting in accordance with clinical and quality initiativesWork with quality initiative teams to improve care delivery and documentationWork closely with nurses, physicians, social workers, chaplains, and hospice aides to promote high-quality patient-centered care.Act as a resource for clinical teams regarding hospice best practices and regulatory compliance.Participate in case reviews and interdisciplinary team (IDT) meetings to ensure quality goals are met.
