Quality Assurance Investigator
Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated Quality Assurance Investigator to lead and manage investigations into internal failures and external customer complaints. This role involves driving the completion of corrective and preventive actions and assisting subject matter experts in root cause analysis. The ideal candidate will contribute to developing investigation SOPs, maintaining databases, and ensuring the verification of corrective actions' effectiveness.
Responsibilities
+ Initiate, track, trend, lead, write, and close all investigations into internal failures and external customer complaints.
+ Drive completion of all corrective and preventive actions in a timely manner.
+ Assist department-specific subject matter experts in root cause analysis.
+ Conduct personnel interviews regularly to determine sequence of events in root cause determination.
+ Review test data for chemical analyses as part of investigations.
+ Develop investigation SOPs, work instructions, and conduct associated training.
+ Ensure proper verification of effectiveness for all corrective and preventive actions.
+ Maintain the corrective and preventive actions database and analyze trends.
+ Collaborate with various operations departments to ensure timely completion of CAPAs.
+ Participate in daily quality meetings to discuss issues and resolve developing trends.
+ Participate in cross-functional meetings relating to failures.
+ Create weekly reports on all open investigations and ensure timely completion.
+ Create monthly reports on failure metrics and trends.
+ Assist with training QA Investigators at lower levels and contribute to the development of new procedures.

Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Biochemistry, or related field.
+ Minimum 5-8 years direct experience in conducting investigations, root cause analysis, and execution of CAPAs in an FDA-regulated environment.
+ 3+ years of experience in a regulated pharmaceutical or chemical manufacturing environment preferred.
+ Ability to review, compile, and verify technical data and documents.
+ Skill in identifying, gathering, processing, and recording data accurately.
+ Proficiency in following customer, organizational, and regulatory standards.
+ Ability to present issues, trends, and similar events with clear, concise, technical language.
Work Environment
The position is based in a chemical manufacturing environment dealing with powdered products, as well as an office setting. The work schedule is Monday through Friday with a flexible day shift. There may be occasions where flexible hours are needed to accommodate investigations. The team is small, consisting of four investigators and a manager, with the possibility of converting to a full-time position and opportunities to mentor junior investigators.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Saint Louis, Missouri.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $33.65 - $36.06/hr.
