Q.A. Technician
Overview **Factory Location:** Houston, TX **Compensation:** $30.45/hour **Shift differential:** 6%-8% of base hourly rate paid for applicable hours worked **Schedule:** 1:00pm - 9:30pm, Mid Shift, Monday - Friday Ability to work holidays and weekends per business needs Responsibilities + Perform tests to analyze water samples, including pH, conductivity, turbidity, alkalinity, hardness, and temperature + Online inspection, sanitation, and cleaning activities + Use various types of test equipment in both production and laboratory settings + Communicate with production technicians and leaders to troubleshoot (problem solve or resolve) quality issues + Verify quality checks for line operators as part of the Release Program + Support sanitation activities, line start-ups and factory projects + Manage items requiring quality hold including non-conforming goods + Support QMS, HACCP, GMP, ICP, micro, sensory and Release Programs. This may include sample collection, sample analysis, and monitoring of incoming raw materials + Ability to manage documentation and organize information for auditing + Development of SOPs and standards related to food safety and quality + Utilize problem solving tools to support continuous improvement + Support food safety and quality training across multiple operational functions through training and coaching Qualifications + College level education desired, relevant pursuit of study in a related area a plus + Prior experience performing basic laboratory procedures + Exposure to Quality Assurance or Production in a food or beverage processing facility is preferred but not required + Ability to work self-directed and with a team + Solid communication and interpersonal skills with experience working in a team-based environment + Experience with sanitation and microbiological control systems + Familiarity with food safety and food defense requirements, audit and regulatory environments, microbiological testing, MI, and other manufacturing control systems + Ability to interact with various internal contacts to manage the flow of work + Exposure to fluid processing and the principles of sanitation science + Understanding of good manufacturing practices and HACCP principles is necessary + Computer skills with knowledge of Microsoft applications, SAP experience a plus + Focus on safe work practices and high quality while executing duties with a sense of urgency + Ability to troubleshoot and make independent decisions related to quality and operation excellence + Ability to move/lift 50 lbs and stand on your feet for long periods of time throughout the day
