You’ll be part of a dynamic, cross-functional team focused on optimizing and delivery results to support Nike’s purchasing and supply planning operations. This role partners closely with Global Procurement, Engineering, Facility Maintenance, Finance, and Logistics to support procurement strategy, supplier performance, and inventory and cost productivity.
The function drives strategic sourcing, procurement excellence, and supplier relationship management, while embedding sustainability and innovation into everyday practices. You will report to the Manager, Purchasing and Supply Planning and collaborate with internal business units and external suppliers.
We’re looking for a collaborative and detail-oriented Specialist, Purchasing & Supply Planning who thrives in a fast-paced environment and brings expertise in supplier management, procurement strategy, and inventory optimization. The ideal candidate will have a track record of strong cross-functional collaboration while driving value through process improvements, and supplier performance through data analytics.
They should bring a deep understanding of procurement best practices, total cost of ownership, and risk mitigation while working with leading tools and methodologies to support business outcomes. This person needs to be comfortable navigating complex supplier networks and communicating effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
Key qualifications:
Minimum 2 years’ experience in supply chain, procurement, supply planning or relevant work experienceBachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, or related field or equivalent combination of education, experience, or trainingProven experience as a Purchasing and Supply Planner or in a similar role, demonstrating comprehensive knowledge of supply chain and purchasing processesProficient in using supply chain management software and tools (e.g., ERP systems, Coupa inventory management software, forecasting tools)Demonstrated ability to operate in a team environment and contribute to successful execution of goalsStrong understanding of procurement, inventory management, logistics, and demand forecastingExcellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze data, draw conclusions, and make informed decisionsStrong analytical skills and ability to manage complex datasetsFamiliarity with supplier scorecards, KPIs, and risk frameworksExceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholdersAbility to achieve goals through influence and stakeholder alignmentExperience with project and vendor management skillsExperience in contract life cycle managementDetail-oriented, organized, and capable of managing multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environmentExperience with MS Office-suitePhysical ability to occasionally lift inventory materials (up to 25 lbs)Professional certifications such as APICS (e.g., CPIM, CSCP) or CPSM, CSCMP are advantageousWHAT YOU’LL WORK ONYou’ll lead and support Nike’s supplier and inventory management efforts through executional excellence in purchasing, supply planning, and analytics. This includes developing strategies for supplier segmentation, contract management, and performance improvement, while aligning with Nike’s sustainability and innovation goals.
Your day-to-day will include:
Owning and executing purchasing strategies, including cost reduction initiatives and VMI programsLeading contract development, database management, and financial risk monitoring for suppliersCreating and publishing supplier scorecards and performance tracking reportsDeveloping forecasting models and reporting inventory levels to ensure optimal availabilityManaging purchase orders and consumable inventory and spend within a monthly budget using Coupa, including goods receipt processing, purchase order tracking, return of rejected or unsuitable orders and invoice reconciliation.Collaborating with Engineering and Integrated Planning teams to utilize forecast volumes to support inventory needs across the distribution networkSupporting RFPs, negotiations, and benchmarking supplier capabilitiesDriving compliance to contractual obligations and sustainability requirementsBuilding and maintaining procurement methodology playbooks and sourcing data analyticsWe offer a number of accommodations to complete our interview process including screen readers, sign language interpreters, accessible and single location for in-person interviews, closed captioning, and other reasonable modifications as needed.
