Job Title: Purchasing Supervisor
Job Description

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Purchasing Supervisor to lead our buyer/planner teams within a manufacturing supply chain environment. This role requires a proactive leader with a strong analytical mindset and a proven track record in managing purchase orders, work orders, inventory, and vendor escalations. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to build and shape the purchasing function, contributing to a high visibility and cross-functional impact within the organization.

ResponsibilitiesLead the buyer/planner team and manage daily operations.Own and oversee inventory health, KPI performance, and workflow execution.Act as an escalation point across production, sales, and finance departments.Stabilize daily operations and enhance team performance.Build and implement Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and establish KPI cadences.Help standardize and scale the procurement and planning function.Essential Skills3–5 years of people management experience in leading buyer/planner teams.Strong ERP experience in a manufacturing supply chain environment.Proven ability to manage POs, work orders, inventory, and vendor escalations.Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Operations Management, or a related field.Minimum of 5-8 years of experience in procurement and planning within a manufacturing or industrial environment.Proficiency in ERP and planning software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, MS Dynamics, or similar).Strong understanding of inventory management, supply chain processes, and material handling.Additional Skills & QualificationsCertification such as CPIM, CSCP is a plus.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.Excellent communication and negotiation abilities.Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with multiple stakeholders.Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles is a plus.Work Environment

The role is primarily in-office with the potential for a hybrid work arrangement, allowing for two days of remote work per week. The environment is flexible, collaborative, and non-micromanaged, offering strong growth potential. There is a focus on building structure and processes in an evolving setting, and the role promises high visibility and cross-functional impact within the organization.

This is a Permanent position based out of Carpinteria, CA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $80000.00 - $110000.00/yr.
