The Purchasing Supervisor shall direct and oversee all procurement activities, lead a team of Buyers developing and maintaining a supply base of raw materials, hardware and outside services. The Purchasing Supervisor shall maintain written controlled procurement procedures, oversee buying practices, establish LTA’s, establish metrics to measure and improve performance and contribute to Continuous Improvement (CI) activities.
Primary Responsibilities
Provides Leadership and guidance to Procurement staff of BuyersPrepare and maintain written procedures for all Procurement related activitiesParticipate in Customer audits as well as Industry required auditsDevelop and maintain strong supply baseStrong people skills, computer skills and thorough understanding of MRP systemsEstablish metrics to measure and improve department performance including supplier performance, shortages, price changes, supplier quality, etc.Maintain accurate MRP inputs, including supplier, lead time, price, etc.Support Continuous Improvement ActivitiesWork directly with Corporate Procurement to establish best practice for all divisions.Establish department goals to reduce costs of direct and indirect materials including processing.Minimum Education or Experience
