Job Title: Purchasing Specialist
Job Description
This opportunity begins as a contract role focused on purchasing for electronic parts, with the potential to transition into permanent employment based on performance and business needs. We seek a detail-oriented Purchaser to support a fast-paced electronic manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate is highly organized, proficient in Microsoft Excel, and comfortable working without a formal ERP system. Responsibilities include managing multiple Bills of Materials (BOMs), tracking material needs, and coordinating purchasing activities to ensure production schedules are maintained.
Responsibilities
Manage purchasing activities for raw materials, components, and supplies.Maintain and update multiple BOMs to track material requirements and order status.Create, update, and analyze spreadsheets to monitor inventory levels, lead times, and vendor performance.Input and track orders manually using Excel-based tools and internal processes.Communicate with suppliers regarding pricing, availability, order confirmations, and delivery timelines.Work closely with production, engineering, and operations teams to ensure materials align with build schedules.Identify shortages, delays, or discrepancies and proactively resolve issues.Maintain accurate purchasing records and documentation.Essential Skills
Proficiency in Excel, including VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, pivot tables, formulas, and data organization.Experience working in environments without a formal ERP system or with highly manual processes.Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple BOMs simultaneously.Prior experience in purchasing, procurement, or supply chain within a manufacturing setting.Strong communication and vendor-management skills.Ability to work independently and maintain organization in a dynamic environment.Work Environment
This position is onsite in Zionsville, IN from Monday to Friday, with core hours from 8am to 5pm. There is flexibility to start as early as 6:30am, but a start time before 8am is required.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $30.00 - $30.00/hr.
