Purchasing Specialist
Job Title: Purchasing SpecialistJob Description The role of a Purchasing Specialist involves providing crucial support in purchasing and inventory management. Your key responsibilities will include processing purchase orders, monitoring inventory levels, and maintaining accurate records. You will coordinate with vendors to ensure pricing, order status, and delivery schedules are met. Additionally, you will receive and verify shipments and address any discrepancies in inventory. Responsibilities + Assist with creating, processing, and tracking purchase orders. + Monitor inventory levels and maintain accurate inventory records. + Coordinate with vendors regarding pricing, order status, and delivery schedules. + Receive and verify shipments against purchase orders. + Identify inventory discrepancies and communicate issues to the purchasing team. + Review, code, and reconcile vendor invoices with purchase orders and receipts. + Assist with accounts payable processes, including invoice tracking and approvals. + Maintain accurate purchasing and financial documentation for audits and reporting. + Support month-end activities related to purchasing and inventory. + Assist with expense tracking and basic cost analysis related to inventory and supplies. + Maintain organized purchasing, inventory, and accounting files. + Perform data entry in purchasing, inventory, and accounting systems. + Prepare basic reports related to inventory, spending, and vendor activity. + Assist with general office and administrative tasks as needed. Essential Skills + Proficiency in purchasing, procurement, and supply chain management. + Experience with ERP systems, SAP, and processing purchase orders. + Strong attention to detail and accuracy with numbers. + Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel. + Strong organizational, time-management, and communication skills. Additional Skills & Qualifications + High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree or coursework in accounting, business, or finance preferred. + 1–2 years of experience in purchasing, inventory, accounting, or administrative support. + Basic understanding of accounts payable, invoice reconciliation, and financial documentation. + Experience with ERP, purchasing, or accounting systems is a plus. Work Environment The position offers flexible work hours, allowing you to work 4 hours a day between 8 AM and 5 PM. Additionally, every other Friday, you will work 5 hours, providing a balanced work-life schedule. You will work closely with the team and contribute to a supportive and organized environment. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Cleveland, OH. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $22.00/hr.
