Job Title: Purchasing Specialist
Job Description
The purpose of this role is to add value to the company by purchasing parts, materials, and supplies necessary for the manufacturing process based on production schedules, forecasts, and inventory levels. This position serves the Production Control department and is integral to the system implementation of a new Oracle-based software.
Responsibilities
Purchase parts, materials, and supplies for manufacturing using the material requirement planning (MRP) report and KanBan system where sources of supply have been established.Review the MRP report daily and visually inspect inventory for requirements.Place orders and expedite them when necessary.Develop relationships with suppliers by managing accounts, visiting suppliers, and understanding commodities.Monitor and rate supplier performance through delivery/quality reports, on-site audits, and daily communication.Manage inventory by conducting checks to determine the status of inventory and placing orders based on the MRP system and production forecast.Address various quality issues including handling rejected materials, notifying suppliers of quality problems, processing defective parts, and maintaining and improving raw materials specifications.Perform negotiations and make recommendations for settlements with vendors on defective or late shipments.Authorize payment of invoices or return of merchandise.Comply with standard work practices and SOPs.Adhere to all EHS and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) policies and procedures.Essential Skills

The role is on-site, Monday to Friday from 8 am to 5 pm.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $22.00/hr.
