Job Title: Purchasing Manager
Job Description
The Purchasing Manager is responsible for leading and managing the Purchasing team to achieve financial, quality, safety, and warranty objectives. This role oversees subordinate departmental leaders and functions, including Commodity Buyers, Plant MRO Purchasing, Supplier Quality, and Facilities.
Responsibilities
Support SAP launch activities for Procurement.Interface with cross-functional SAP teams.Develop SAP implementation plans and readiness tracking.Prepare SAP monthly reports, including development plans versus actuals and readiness status.Manage the transition from Oracle to SAP systems (S/4HANA and Ariba).Lead SAP training initiatives for direct and indirect Procurement buyers.Coordinate and manage SAP training for suppliers.Lead internal and external SAP issue resolution related to Procurement.Identify, develop, and retain key talent within the department.Effectively manage team members to ensure individual and departmental success.Oversee the tactical operations of materials management, purchasing, and other assigned functions.Partner with inventory management to ensure accurate forecasting and inventory planning.Collaborate with Sales, Product Management, Program Management, Engineering, and Warehouse teams to align objectives and execution.Identify supplier opportunities and challenges, working with Product Management to drive effective resolutions.Lead contract discussions, negotiations, and implementation with cross-functional stakeholders.Support and lead innovation initiatives.Essential Skills
Prior management experience.Heavy SAP experience, ideally part of an implementation/migration.Project management skills.Customer service expertise.Negotiation skills.ERP knowledge.Data analysis capabilities.Vendor management experience.Purchasing and purchase order proficiency.Supply chain management.Pricing expertise.Excel pivot table skills.Bachelor's degree.7+ years of position-related experience.Additional Skills & Qualifications
Experience with MRP.Experience with direct reports.Work Environment
This position offers a long-term opportunity with hybrid flexibility, allowing for a hybrid work schedule of 3 days onsite and 2 days at home, from 8 am to 5 pm.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Ann Arbor, MI.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $38.00 - $57.69/hr.
