D.R. Horton, Inc. is currently looking for anPurchasing Field Auditorin the Purchasing Department. The right candidate will ensure that the correct materials needed are delivered for work performed via onsite inspections.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Perform onsite inspections of all delivered materials at homes throughout the construction processAssess waste on jobsites to adjust takeoffs, taking note of the misuse or excessive waste of materials by turnkey subcontractors and communicating the details to the Construction and Purchasing DepartmentsManage all aspects of proper usage and installation of those materialsDetermine if accurate material quantities are delivered. Coordinate with material suppliers on incorrect material deliveries or delivery of damaged materialsProvide direction to the field installation subcontractors on allocated materials for each area of the house as communicated by the Purchasing DepartmentDetermine if there is incorrect material usage by subcontractors, provide the appropriate direction on correction to the subcontractors, and communicate the issue to the Construction Department and Purchasing DepartmentDetermine all material overages and coordinate the pickup of those materials by the material suppliersBe aware of ever-changing applicable building codes and OSHA requirements which would alter material types, material usage, or material quantitiesIssue purchase orders for any material shortages and determine if the takeoffs need adjustmentAdjust material takeoffs in the operating systemIssue back charges for the material overagesPerform checklists and complete reports that aid in controlling the efficient management of all of the materials on all home typesCommunicate with counterparts to ensure the efficient management of all of the materials on all home types across all areas of the divisionConducts all business in a professional and ethical manner to serve customers and increase the goodwill and profit of the company

Education and/or Experience

Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or universityOne to three years of related experience and/or trainingMust have a vehicle and a valid driver’s licenseAbility to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written oral form or via DRH applicationsProficiency with MS Office and email
